Meaningful Access Projects | Exhibition Tour

A group of Helen Keller Hostel adults with visual impairments joined the museum’s curator, Candice Allison, for a tour of the exhibition Subject as Matter.

Led by Sandra Eastwood from MAP (Meaningful Access Projects), an initiative that explores multi-sensory, cross disciplinary approaches to art appreciation as part of an inclusive welcome to museum visitors who live with disabilities, the group then spent some time interacting with Willem Boshoff’s Blind Alphabet, currently on show. His approach to the Blind Alphabet was further explored by the group in creative body movements considering the nature of wood and the nature of bones with Hannah Loewenthal.

Date: Tuesday 9 April 2013
